Through our classes, support services and San Francisco’s CityBuild Academy, we’ve helped over a thousand individuals realize these goals.  

Are you a high-schooler wanting to grow your leadership skills?  Finding the city and all of its opportunities and challenges a bit overwhelming?  For over 18 years, Families in Transition (FIT) has provided academic and social support for Asian immigrant youths and their families, equipping them with skills and know-how to survive and thrive in the US with a sense of well-being and confidence. 

Aspiring to become a professional chef? Have dreams of opening a new restaurant? Wanting to expand your repertoire for an existing catering business or mobile pop-up? We have been training entrepreneurs in the culinary arts for nearly 40 years, particularly for recent immigrants and others seeking the skills, certification, and liveable wage jobs in the foodservice industry for a lifetime.

Need assistance with expenses related to your business? Get help with design services and construction costs through the program called SF Shines.

Apply for a grant that will connect you with a designer at no cost, or apply for a grant to receive up to $5,000 for construction costs.
